Training to be a beauty therapist is hard work. The student must complete an intensive programme before they can practice their profession. Subjects studied include anatomy & physiology, chemistry, nutrition, hygiene & sterilisation and electrolysis along with practical applications.
As beauty therapy is a service industry the student must also be trained in customer service, reception and retail, health and safety and business skills.
The Association recognises specific New Zealand and International qualifications.
The Association also welcomes the membership of training providers, product distributors and other affiliated bodies.
